There’s one thing I tell every couple in my wedding guide: "You’re not just booking vendors—you’re building your team." And when someone on that team fumbles, it shows.
Recently, a bride shared her horror story with me:
She was walking down the aisle, emotions high, everything beautifully in place…
Then a Spotify ad started playing over the ceremony music. Why? Because the DJ was using Spotify Free. Let that sink in.
This moment that was supposed to be magical turned into a meme-worthy disaster. And the worst part? It could’ve been avoided.
Here’s the thing: your vendors should add value, not take away from your experience. That’s why I always recommend asking these key questions when hiring a DJ:
- Do you use streaming platforms? If so, what kind?
- Can you show us footage from past weddings?
- What backup systems do you have in place?
Let me show you the flip side.
At Brittany & Onija’s wedding, @ceasefireprods was the exact opposite of that horror story. They showed up with energy, professionalism, and gear that worked—no surprises. The dance floor was packed, the transitions were smooth, and the couple didn’t have to stress once.
📸 As a Charlotte-based wedding photographer, I’ve seen it all. The smooth, the messy, and everything in between. The goal? Spend smart. Hire people who care. And always—ask better questions.
