Real Wedding Feature — Charlotte NC Wedding Photographer
Brionna & Matthew — October 3, 2026 — Richmond County, North Carolina
There is something rare about a wedding day that just works. Not the kind that runs perfectly on paper, but the kind where every person in the room is exactly who they are supposed to be, every moment lands the way it was supposed to land, and by the end of the night you drive home smiling. That was October 3rd at Fox Road Farm in Marston, North Carolina.
As a Charlotte NC wedding photographer who travels all over the country, I have photographed weddings in ballrooms, barns, vineyards, and city rooftops. Fox Road Farm stopped me in my tracks. Situated in Richmond County in the NC Sandhills, about an hour and a half from Charlotte, the venue has a warmth and sophistication that you feel the moment you arrive.
When I pulled up that afternoon, Brionna and Matthew were already moving. Tables going up. Décor coming together. The two of them setting the space with their own hands, surrounded by family and a circle of people who clearly showed up ready to work and ready to celebrate. I watched it all come together in real time, and it looked like a professional installation. Rustic and sophisticated all at once. Their color scheme played off the venue perfectly.
"Of everybody I've talked to, you've been the most helpful."Brionna, during their planning call
And then there was the weather. Rain had been in the forecast all week. It held off for every single moment that mattered. Ceremony. Portraits. Send off. All of it under clear skies with that warm early October light that North Carolina does better than anywhere. That is not coincidence. That is favor.
Fox Road Farm: A North Carolina Wedding Venue Worth Knowing
Brionna had her eye on Fox Road Farm from the start, and once you see it you understand why. The venue sits in Richmond County with a welcoming, sophisticated energy that does not feel like a rented space. For couples across the Sandhills region, Charlotte, and the Fort Bragg corridor looking for a venue with genuine character, Fox Road Farm delivers something different. The contrast between the architecture and the open land gave the day a visual range that made every frame interesting, from the intimate indoor moments to the wide outdoor shots during golden hour.
They set up the entire space themselves. Not a planner, not a staging crew. Just the people they love, following Brionna's vision. Every centerpiece. Every table. Every little detail. And it looked like a professional installation.

The Ceremony: Chills, Community, and a Daughter's Speech
The outdoor ceremony captured exactly what this couple is about. Surrounded by the people who matter most, under open North Carolina skies, Brionna walked toward her person. In her own words, that was the moment of the day.
"My favorite moment of the day has to be walking down the aisle. Seeing all my favorite people and of course my husband. It gave me chills. I would also have to say my daughter's speech is the runner up for favorite moments." ❤️
That daughter's speech. The room felt it. I was watching through the lens and I felt it too. Moments like that are why I do this work.
How Brionna and Matthew Met
Their story has all the ingredients of a great love story, including a last name that started as a punchline.
"We met in 29 Palms, California. We worked right across the street from each other and I made fun of the groom's last name, not knowing it would be taking a permanent place in my life two years later. We started talking after a mutual coworker invited us to her baby shower."
Two military professionals, working across the street from each other at 29 Palms. A baby shower. A last name she laughed at that she now wears. That is how you write a story.
After delivering the gallery, I asked Brionna to share a few thoughts in her own words for couples considering Fox Road Farm or searching for a North Carolina wedding photographer.
"Fox Road Farm was the bride's first pick because it was stunning and gave off a welcoming and sophisticated vibe. It was so dreamy and played into an awesome contrast with the color scheme. It was just a perfect place to celebrate."
"Do exactly what you want to do. It's your wedding. Give yourself plenty of time in between each step so you don't feel rushed. And make sure you take it all in. If you're a chaotic bride like me, make sure you get the best photographer so you don't miss a thing." ❤️
"If I could have done one thing differently, I would have gotten more decorations and taken more time to see it all set up. I would also recommend taste tests and making sure you can squat down in your dress."
The Sparkler Send Off at Blue Hour
There are very few things more electric than a sparkler send off at blue hour on a clear October night in North Carolina. The couple framed by two lines of fire, everyone they love surrounding them, that blue sky fading behind the venue. I live for frames like that. Brionna and Matthew gave me one.
One of the highlights of my day off camera was finding out that Matthew and I share military ties to Yuma. There is a certain feeling when you are around people who understand that world, and it made an already meaningful day feel like home. The military energy in that room was real. It was family. And I felt every bit of it.
Brionna wanted images that would feel timeless. No trendy filters. No colors that clash ten years from now. Just true to life, true to the moment. That is exactly how I shot it. When you open your gallery, your dress should look the same shade of white it did that day. The sky should be the same blue it was at golden hour. That is the goal every single time.
I am based in Indian Trail, NC and serve couples across the Charlotte metro, the Sandhills, Richmond County, the Fayetteville and Fort Bragg corridor, and I travel nationwide. To Brionna and Matthew: thank you for trusting me with your day. Please share my name with everyone in your circle.
